Textbook rental is simple and saves you up to 50% over the cost of buying a new book. You can rent the textbook(s) you need for the semester at a discounted price and then return them at the end of the term.
A textbook(s) is available for rent, the Rental option will display in your book list along side New and/or Used (if available).Just check the box and follow the instructions.
Normal highlighting and writeing are permitted. We use the same standards for determining acceptable condition of both rented textbooks and other textbooks sold back as used.
If the textbook rental is returned after the due date or is damaged, the credit card on file will be charged for a replacement textbook and processing fee, as described in your Rental Agreement.
Please check the expiration date. The card must be valid through the end of the rental term. If your expiration date is valid, please contact your credit card company for assistance.
The rental period begins the day you pay for the rental and continues through the fourth day from the end of the semester. Check the order confirmation for rental expiration date.
Rented materials must be renturned via the provided prepaid label or onsite during the end of the term buyback period. Reminder emails will be sent 21, 14 and 7 days before the rental is due. The emails will include prepaid return label and onsite return information if applicable. The replacement cost and processing fee for any textbook(s) not returned, regardless of the reason, will be charged. These fees are in addition to the original rental cost and will be charged to the credit card on file.
The rental fees are 75% of new textbook price. In addition, there is a processing fee of 7.5% of the new textbook price.
Reminder emails will be sent 21, 14 and before the rental is due. However, it is the customers responsibility to return the textbook(s) by the due date even if you do not receive a reminder email. A backorder occurs if the textbook(s) ordered is temporarily out of stock.

USNA midshipman may return textbooks to the campus bookstore for fall and spring semesters up until the 12th day of class or within 7 days of purchase; summer semester returns must be done within 7 days of purchase.
